Dental Implants: Case 6
Description
Tara has been a patient of mine since 2005. At the age of ten she was in an accident where she fell and hit her front teeth on a concrete step. Tooth #11 fractured and was restored with a composite. Tooth #21 later abscessed and required a root canal treatment. She had orthodontic treatment for two and half years. It was noted in 2008 that for some unknown reason the roots of 11 and 22 were shortening and getting more mobile. The braces were removed as soon as possible when this was noticed by the orthodontist. A maxillary splint was used for ongoing retention since this young lady had a history of clenching and grinding. Treatment included an upper implant, three veneers and an implant crown.
