How Does Dr. Podilsky Treat Overlapping Teeth?

There are several treatment options available for treating overlapping teeth. Dr. Podilsky will recommend the option that is most likely to produce the best results in your unique case. Available treatment options include:

Porcelain veneers: In addition to concealing cracks, chips, and stains, porcelain veneers can be used to address certain orthodontic problems including slight overlapping of the teeth. By affixing porcelain veneers to the front surfaces of overlapping teeth, Dr. Podilsky can adjust their size, shape, and length, bringing them into improved alignment and creating a superior bite.
Same-day crowns: With the use of our in-office CEREC® machine, Dr. Podilsky is able to provide patients with same-day dental crowns. For patients with overlapping teeth, crowns are often used in conjunction with porcelain veneers to create an improved bite and a more aesthetically pleasing smile.
Invisalign®: The Invisalign® system is potentially ideal for patients who require a more traditional orthodontic solution to their overlapping teeth, but who do not want to wear conventional wire-and-bracket metal braces. Invisalign® aligners are made of a clear, comfortable plastic and are custom-crafted to fit comfortably in the mouth. Patients wear each set of aligners for approximately two weeks, at which point they are traded out for the next set in the series. Each set moves the teeth gradually but definitively toward their optimal positions in the mouth. The aligners can conveniently be removed for brushing, flossing, and eating. As long as they are worn for 20 to 22 hours each day, optimal results can generally be achieved in roughly the same time frame as metal braces, if not even more quickly.
